The Miami market for business sales

About 447 completed sales were reported across the Miami and Fort Lauderdale metro in 2025, at a median sale price near $291,000, on median revenue of roughly $631,000 and median cash flow around $142,300. Around 1,716 businesses were actively listed across the metro in the second quarter of 2026, and sellers closed at about 90 percent of their asking price after a median 164 days on the market.

The comparison to the national picture is the part worth sitting with. Nationally the median business sold for about $350,000 on revenue near $703,000 and cash flow around $158,950. Miami came in under all three. That is not a knock on the businesses here, it is what happens when supply runs this far ahead of demand: with four listings chasing every completed sale, buyers set the terms, and the businesses that sell well are the ones that give a buyer nothing to argue with.

Worth saying plainly: South Florida has far more firms advertising brokerage services than there are deals closing, so plenty of local shops complete very few transactions in a year. A crowded directory is not the same as a working broker. Ask how many deals the specific advisor you would work with closed last year, not what the firm claims across every office.

A broker runs the sale so you can keep running the company, which in a 164-day median market is not a small thing. The work falls into a few buckets: pricing the business with evidence, presenting it to the right buyers without tipping off your staff or competitors, fielding and comparing offers, and steering the paperwork through to closing.

Signs you have the right broker in Miami

They price with proof

They price with proof. Your asking price is backed by a certified valuation and actual closed comparables. Miami businesses sold below the national median on price, revenue and cash flow in 2025, so a number lifted from a national rule of thumb will be wrong here, usually in the direction that costs you a buyer.

They already know the buyers

They bring qualified buyers. Your business goes directly to vetted individual buyers, search funds and regional acquirers. In a market this saturated, waiting to be noticed is not a plan.

Confidentiality

They guard your privacy. Your business is shown under a confidentiality agreement. In a market where everyone seems to know everyone, that protects your staff, your customers and your standing with the competitor two blocks over.

They are straight about money

They are clear about money. You know the costs upfront. With Bridge the certified valuation is a flat $1,999 and the first consultation is free. You know what it costs before anything is signed.

They stay through closing

They stay with you to the end. The same advisor carries your deal from the first valuation through diligence and closing, rather than passing you to whoever is free that week.

Broker, appraiser, or M&A advisor: which do you need?

These titles get used loosely in South Florida listings, so here is the plain-language version before you start calling around. A business broker manages the full sale of a small to mid-sized business, from pricing to closing, and that is what most owners need. A business appraiser produces a value only, with no role in finding a buyer or closing the deal. An M&A advisor handles larger, more complex transactions, often with multiple parties or outside investors. Bridge handles the valuation and the brokerage together, so your numbers are not passed between three vendors who each bill you to re-learn them.

How will you arrive at my asking price, and is it backed by a certified valuation?
How do you find and qualify buyers, and how large is your network?
How will you keep my sale confidential from employees, customers, and competitors?
What are your fees, and what is included before I commit to anything?
Will I have one dedicated advisor from start to finish?
Can you also help me grow my value if I am not ready to sell yet?

How a sale works with Bridge

Free consultation

Start with a free consultation. Talk through what you want out of the sale and when. Nothing is committed at this stage.

Certified valuation

Set your price. A certified valuation gives you an asking number you can defend in front of a buyer, in 3 to 5 business days.

Preparation and marketing

Go to market quietly. Bridge takes the business to qualified buyers under confidentiality, so it reaches the market without reaching your staff.

Negotiation and closing

Negotiate and close. Your advisor runs the offers, the letter of intent, diligence and the closing schedule while you keep the business performing.

Owner Stories

“After owning and operating our business for 26 years, we had no idea where to begin when it came time to sell. We didn’t know how to value the business, where to find qualified buyers, or what the selling process involved. Working with Jimmy at Bridge completely changed that.”

Theron H

“Our business sold within 4–6 months at our asking price, and the transition was smooth from start to finish. The Bridge team guided us through the process and made what felt overwhelming much easier to navigate. We’d highly recommend them to any business owner considering a sale.”

Kristin H

“I highly recommend Bridge Financial. Their team is knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely cares about delivering quality work. The attention to detail and level of support I received exceeded my expectations.”

Mike S

“Looking back, I wish I had connected with Bridge sooner. After 11 years of owning my business, I never had a clear understanding of what it was worth or how to increase its value. Now I have a roadmap for the future and a much better understanding of what it will take to achieve a successful exit one day.”
